>>No, but many of us have already expressed we don't feel we have the time to go through and manipulate everything in every shop to find items for sale. When a GM puts wares in an item that is not obvious in the room description, they will not have their work as appreciated as they might want.

Sometimes it's nice when the Gamemasters prod you into stopping to smell the roses.

What does that have to do with anything we've been discussing? I love to shop, but I hate shopping at Marshalls because I have to dig and guess. Sometimes it's necessary, but when more and more GMs make their shops like Marshalls it starts to really suck.

>>I always saw it more of a ticket lottery, like football games or race entries, where there was more interest than product. You win the opportunity to purchase the limited product.

Anytime I've seen this done it's with a free ticket and then you pay for the product, not one where you both pay for the ticket and the product. I guess with the raffle system we'd still have to use a minimum of 1 silver, but that'd be close enough to free for me.

I'm not always all that thorough when exploring but a few of the shops that come to mind were the general store and a shop of...Kaikala's I think where there were manoples hidden. The general store was great because once I stumbled on the first oddity, it really made me question anything and everything. The other shop was from maybe eg 2012 or maybe the premium festival? I remember there being a table..and SF had a highlight for like the tablecloth or something draping over the edge. I fumbled with commands for a little bit before finding a few weapons and a sign. What I liked though, was that looking at the highlighted object suggested that it was blocking the light from making that part of the room visible. Whatever it was, it was subtle but a good hint for me to spend a little more time.

Less-than-conveniently designed shops can create an evocative, special experience, and enhance game play.

I don't often put my wares in spots that take a little bit of looking around to find -- but when I do, it tends to be some of my better wares, and it's definitely on purpose. It's not that I don't want those wares appreciated; it's that I want to give a bit more "reward" of sorts to the people who DO look around. I appreciate that people have to pick and choose their time, but there's nothing wrong with carrots for people who use that time to look around their world (even a text world)... this is probably because as a player, I always got great satisfaction out of finding the more 'hidden' aspects of in rooms and shops, so I like to TRY to pass that along to others now.

oh I appreciate it everywhere else. I'd just rather spend the time on the actual items. I spent over a half hour mastering the photo albums and the accompanying cards to figure out if I wanted to buy a whole lot of the cards.

>>Like I said earlier, if I were a player, and a limitation were being instituted, I would not go to many events anymore. Because I went with the idea to hammer it as hard as I could.
