Could we PLEASE get a way to break our vigil link to people?
Usually after I have rejuv'ed someone and they have departed, I tend to vigil them to help them out. If I get dropped at any point, I log back on later and still have either a link with the person or a link with "someone". This prevents me from being able to vigil with anyone and I have to sit waiting for it to break.
There is some very odd randomness about the length of vigil links too, I have had some drop within a couple of minutes and others last for 20 minutes or so. I tend to cast them all at about the same prep, just seems a rather large margin of variation.
Anyone, my request is that we have some kind of "vigil break person" or something option. I would say replace it but since at higher circles you can have multiple vigil's, it would make more sense to be able to break the link individually or just release all vigil links.
Any feedback is welcomed, thanks.

Yeah, I've asked for this too. I think the answer at the time was "I'll think about it, but probably not." Was never told why the "probably not" though. I didn't think it would be difficult to add into the code, since Empaths already have a "break link" option.

Right now, you just have to judge mana. I never vigil anyone for more than 15 mana if they are a magic user, or are near my level. This means the link will die after about 5-10 minutes. For high level NMUs, I have to use more mana to make it last long enough to do any good because of magic resistance.

And that's why the duration is different on different players. The duration seems to be exactly the same across the board, the issue just stems from the fact that non magic users resist the spell slightly.
I really don't see any need to be able to break Vigil links. Vigil links can't kill you. It's just a slight nusance, nothing more. My solution would be to just cast the spell lower so it doesn't last as long.

Since you can only have a certain number of links at a time it would be nice to be able to break them if you wanted to use one on someone else if you're already maxed out.

Oh yeah. 4 just isn't enough. If you REALLY want to break your links, kill yourself. Or.. wait for Meraud's Cry to come out, then cast it on yourself. ;)
In an abstract sense; sure! It would be wonderful if we could. But, I doubt any of us would use the ability often if at all.. except for those players who can only form a single link. Since breaking a link should, in theory, be skill based, they probably couldn't even break the links in the first place. So, the point seems fairly moot.
This argument has been brought up so many times already. As someone said, Skral said it's most likely not going to happen. He didn't give a reason, but.. oh well. Like I said, it really doesn't seem useful.

I understand why you are asking- and nothing wrong with asking for a break Vigil link, but wouldn't you really rather have Kertigen's will released or our guild requirements come out?
My point being, we can ask for anything we want, but hopefully, Skraal is good at prioritizing. A break link may seem simple for vigil but may require quite a bit of work for something that few clerics would use, or would be used rarely.
I want massive clerical bonuses to melee combat with with undead....I would use those almost every day...and probably wouldn't take any more work than breaking vigil links...
