Life magic is the magic type that Rangers and Empaths use. There are different types of mana (holy for clerics and paladins, elemental for warmies and bards?, lunar for moonies). There are different amounts of mana in each room, and each of the guilds draws upon their specific type of mana to cast spells.

As a barbarian, you should stay away from magic of all types. The only way i could see it possibly effecting you, is if someone in a magic guild casts a spell on you, that can lower your "inner fire". Least, this was true of before. I don't follow barbs much, so if you want to know more about your inner fire, i'd ask one of your guild mates.

Little known trivia about life mana: Empaths also use it... It's not just a Ranger thing.

Life mana draws on the life forces in the area...some areas are more plentiful than others, of course. Those deities that command life and life forces are usually the ones associated with the life power guilds.

Spells that employ life magic are usually calling apon the life power of other critters/people or by manipulating the life forces.

It's pretty cool, actually... I love life power! I just wish empaths, who are intune with it due to empathic sensibilities, would have more spells that involve that intunement and empathy besides healing. Either that or change Empath Guild to Healer's Guild ;)
