they resist all magic, even area affect spells which aren't directed specifically at them and yes BB is directed at them
you have to focus a pattern on the barb so that the tree will fall down and hit them, they disrupt that pattern thus making the spell fail

Thats what I want clarifed. I dont see it as putting a spell parrter around them.
I see it as looking at the person/barb, looking up, and casting it on the branch that is above them.
I want to know how the GM (rigby) sees it, because his view that makes the spell what it is.

Rigby doesn't read the boards he stopped reading them half way into magic 2.1
his response would be basically the same, someone asked a similiar question on another spell and got an answer similiar to that from D, but my memory could just be fuzzy and wrong, but your better off trying to look for the answer from D-man
