I know at the very least that I have Bugged this problem in game. I went back to look in the archieves and could not find a post on this. So I am posting now about it.

Back when it was deemed that Halberd skill, in addition to Pikes skill, would apply to jousting, I did not complain. As illogical as it seems to me, it does allow folks with different weapon choices to take part in Jousting. Good for everyone overall one would think.

Well now that we have a competition involving Jousting, the only weapon available is a Halberd type weapon. This I believe is caused by a long standing bug with Polearms that most polearm users have experienced at one time or another.

This is the bug where a Pike type weapon will appraise as a Halberd. It was fairly common with Festival type Pikes, Lances, and Spears. My personal theory is that it comes as part of the creation process of the weapon, and if not watched for, will crop up.

Now I will come the point.

It is a heavy thrown and halberd type weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
poor puncture damage
no slice damage
fair impact damage

You are confident that the lance is poorly balanced and is fairly suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the blunted lance is of average strength, and is in pristine condition.

The blunted lance is made with metal.
You have no clear idea how much the blunted lance weighs.
You are certain that the blunted lance is worth exactly 50 lirums.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

This is an appraisal of the Blunted Lances at the El Bains horse area. Most likely all Blunted lances that sell for 50 copper appraise like this.

Notice there is a problem here. A Lance is most definately not a Halberd. Every lance in the game appraises as a Pike type weapon, and if it does not, a Referal will get it fixed.

And even if within the next couple of days this weapon can be fixed to reflect its proper weapon type, we will still have a problem.

As it stands now, Pike users do not have a weapon of choice for the Kaith Kirm Jousting competition. If and when these Blunted Lances are changed to Pike type weapons, then Halberd users will not have a weapon of choice for the jousting competitions.

Since it was deemed that both weapon types will serve in the sport of Jousting, it is only fair that both weapon types exist in a Blunted form to serve this sport. Perhaps a Blunted Poleaxe could be created for the Halberd users. Identical in every way to the Blunted lances, only they appraise as a Halberd type weapon.

I hope you will see the logic and fairness in this and expedite the matter.

I will be crossposting this in the appropriate Weapon folder, as well as the Kaith Kirm folder so that various GMs involved will know of this.
