This is prolly going to be concidered a stupid question but my understanding is that the training of a horse has circle reqs. Are those reqs for the trainer or for the owner?

That's not a stupid question at all- the system is complex.
Horses and riders both have to be taught things. For instance, a horse has to be taught to tolerate magic, and I think targetted magic. The rider has to be taught how to prep spells on horseback, and how to use targetted spells from horseback. There are many other courses for both horse and rider.
Rangers have to be certain circles to be able to learn things to teach the horses, and the riders have to be certain circles to be taught certain things that will make them a better rider.
There are a few sites out there with detailed information. I suggest that you and I both go there to do some research.

Thank ye much. I've been to Brynnhilde's site and it had great info. Was mostly checking my understanding of it. Dun spose there is anywhere i can find directions to the various corrals and tack shops? Been looking around crossings and found the tack shop across from the inn but wasn't impressed.
Again thank you much for the info :)

Check the Royal Mews out the north gate of Crossing. WWW.rangerrawb.com/ranik has a map if you can't find it. The tack shop there is pretty nice and even includes some horsey-fluff in the front room.

I can teach ya grab provided you are of sufficient circle, takes about 20-30 minutes. Presently in Crossing. Gweth or AIM for me. Bardess Matrina.

Prance is taught to a ranger by the stablemen. You might check with (Mathwen, I think it is?) in Crossing Royal Mews out the north gate.
Sit, to my knowledge, isn't a command. You're probably thinking of BEG, which can also be learned from the stablemen. It gives messaging of the horse sitting and begging for a treat.
REAR is a command, but it gets taught with the keyword SPIN. Once your horse has been taught to spin, it will also rear. SPIN is also taught by the stablemen.
Hope that helps!

War Training on 02/01/2006 11:02 AM CST
I've got a horse and a relatively new paladin. The horse is fully trained, save for War training and I would greatly love to have that changed. If you're able to train her, please consider doing so. I'll do whatever I can to make it up; be it in monetary form or favors done for you by any of my characters.
Please IM me at Lucretiusfiend on the AIM network, or send me an email if you'd even possibly consider doing this.
Thanks.
