Possibility of kicking a horse off the ferry at the next stop when the owner is online and isn't riding it?

Your mind hears TRADER thinking, "A few odds and ends in my southeast corner of the market tent, including a slimey green weapon potion."

(a few minutes later on the ferry)

>hide
The buckskin horse notices your attempt to hide!
The buckskin horse discovers you, ruining your hiding place!
Roundtime: 5 sec.
R>l horse
The buckskin horse is fourteen hands high with a light tan coat. It has a black mane and tail. The mare has a small, thin white line running down the length of the face.
The horse is wearing a highly polished saddle of supple black leather bearing elaborately embroidered stirrups, a saddle pad, a thick blanket, and a dark leather bridle.
You recognize TRADER's brand on the horse's flank.
>

As much as I love not being able to hide, I'd rather there actually be someone there with the horse not just the horse riding back and forth on the ferry.

Just because I'm sure someone will mention. By "riding it" I am full aware that they can't ride on the ferry, but take it to mean leading it instead. I just happened to write riding instead of leading.

I wonder if that would be considered a mech abuse situation? At least it's not a Guardian Spirit, which you simply can't hide on (far as I know, at least).

Can't you kill the horse?

Last I knew they could only be killed with DB. (I'm a bard, so no dice).

The only problem with killing horses is that technically its mech abuse.

So...

Seems more like animal abuse to me. How's it mech abuse?

They aren't supposed to be killable.

Their technical status as critters makes them killable with certain abilities though.

Horses are definitely killable, and I've killed them with mundane weapons. They seem to have huge amounts of vitality though and it took me a while. Their hides make nice tanned fluff too, but dont tell my fellow rangers ;)

"Critter" horses, which have been cut from the heard but not caught are able to be killed by regular means. I think there are just a few spells which can kill an owned horse (one with a brand) and a GM had said something about how horses were not supposed to be killed since mechanics to protect them/heal/raise them or something aren't in place, and I'd wager not even close to 'soon' territory. Not even soon being 'soon'.

Okay. But i know all that.

I just want the horses to please be escorted off ferries, barges, ships, gondolas if no one is leading them and is online, doing something else somewhere else.

Maybe I'm understanding things wrong, but it seems pretty pointless to ask for improvements or add-ons to the horse system when its obvious that a. its broken, b. there is little GM interest in/commitment to improving it c. building on a broken/buggy system is less than ideal.

Thats fine if thats you're opinion. But I like asking and suggesting improvements. If you don't like the idea, please don't continue hijacking my thread.

At this point, after SOOOOO many years of no work on horses at all, I'd take ANY hint that someone is actually looking at the horse code, even if it was to simply auto-remove the horse from the ferries.
