Not sure if this has been discussed before cause I'm relatively new to the horse biz.. but..
I can see where horses are valuable to paladins as an additional offensive weapon and I've found several useful aspects for other guilds in addition to the wonderful roleplaying opptys, but I'm wondering if this complex system couldn't be put to additional uses within the game. Two things stand out in my mind as useful additions:

1) The ability to ride double. I used to do this all the time as a kid- ride bareback double herding cows. Quite a thrill. But it would be awfully nice to take spouses with us on rides.

2) The ability to put items in pocketed saddlebags that horses can wear, Hang bundles off of saddlehorns while hunting, sling your bow across the saddlehorn, etc. Be a great wait to reduce burden while hunting and travelling.

3) Please please can my horse follow me on trailmarkers.

I'm sure I'll think of more.

I have a feeling that if we are ever store anything on a horse, it will be very very limited in size and weight. Maybe a single sword, or bow. Perhaps a saddlebag big enough to carry 2 or 3 small items.

The reason I believe this is because Trader's and their Kregs, which carry bundles and such.
