I was just dropped by my server, I managed to get back in-game within about three minutes, found my caravan waiting patiently, but my horse was gone! I know the stables send someone out to round up a loose horse, but surely they're a bit on the quick side. Can we have a few more minutes added before the stables lead off your horse? Equate it to RL time, and it takes on a super-human feat, from being told there's a horse loose, to organising a hand to go get the horse, to finaly leading the horse into the stable. surely would take more than a few roisen, or even an anlas.
Septamus, missing his Gee Gee
Actually when you disconnect and leave your horse out, or are dropped as happened to yourself, your horse does not immediately get stabled.
But it does wander off to graze. If you wait in the room you left the game in, the horse should return within 30 minutes tops. Usually it is only 5-10 minutes.
If it has not returned after 30 minutes, then there might be a problem, and you would at that time have to manually have the stables collect it.
Or if you do not return within 24-48 hours time (I think that was the time they announced when the system first was released), then at that time the system will automatically send out a stablehand and collect it. At that point you have no choice.
Up until they you do have a choice unless there is a Game Crash or other such weirdness.
And remember if the Stable collects your horse, then you will most likely loose all the tack on it. So avoid this if at all possible.
Hope this helps,
Candidus
ummm, I don't think this is the case anymore Candidus, I suggest anyone who is logging off with their horse still out, especially paladins should simply just not do it at all anymore. Unless of course you get booted.
the reason I think this has to do with my last two episodes of the boot monster getting hold of me, on both occasions my horse did not come back at all, and when i assisted it turned out that it had wandered by itself to the nearest stable, where a helpful stablehand took quick advantage of the straggler and made off with all the barding and tack which had been on the horse. For a grand total of about 20 plat worth.
And then there was the latest thing at the Gate of souls, where i had left my horse while remaining IG so i could go hunt inside the gate for about 30 minutes (during which I remained awake and in game the entire time)only to come out and find again, my horse had decided to wander off to the stables by itself, or so I was told by a helpful GM after i assisted about it's disapearance. Lost all the tack I had on it this time too.
So an extension on the amount of time before a horse wanders when you get booted is badly needed in my opinion, and actually, i think if one is to get booted from the game whether it be his/her fault (IE your ISP crashes) or simu's fault (IE their server crashes) you should never lose the items that are on your horse one, that is a ridiculous idea whoever thought of that one, and two, the horse should remain where it is until you return just like a caravan, but will need perhaps grooming and to be fed upon the return, and for pallie's maybe the bond would decrease slightly dependant on the amount of time you are away. That to me is reasonable.
The way it is now is insanely unfair being we are totally dependant on staying in game through means we personally do not have any control over. However, i beleive that if a person logs from the game on purpose which I am not sure but I think there are ways they could tell if that's the case. then I could see the horse being stabled, tack go missing, or what have you, I could even see this as being prime oppurtunity for horse theft seeing as the horse has been abandoned more or less.
Anyway, those are my thoughts like em or not.

Here's my little slogan, seems to be the fad these days.
Opinions are like arses, we all have one, and each and every one stinks!
