I would like to see a swimming skill for horses. If that is a feasible idea, I think it is one that would not only get used, but it would make horse ownership less inconvenient overall, by reason of better travel options vs. stabling the horse for an hour because you need to go leave the land mass you are on for 20 minutes or so.
I think they might have to fix swimming first so that you don't get washed away by the current when your horse doesn't (the flying mounts have this problem, as the game sees you in the room but not exactly on the mount and therefore the current/swimming difficulty applies to the guy flying above the water).
