I remember reading that Origami Pads (or something along those lines) were scheduled to be released as part of HWN. Is it safe to assume that there will be an announcement when this happens, or do I need to check the shops every day?

They're already coded, from what I recall. The people who play-tested them asked for them to be belt-worn, but I can't imagine that would take a huge amount of effort, so I would expect they're either in or through QC, and should be released soon (real soon, not Simu-soon).
