just and idea but since we can now build fires how bout being able to collect charcoal from fires that have gone out via forage or other methods.

Nice idea, but I think it might be better if we could directly create the charcoal by tending a wood fire. Maybe we could only create charcoal out of wood chips (hey, it'd give a useless item a real use), thereby avoiding the need to chop up large chunks that came from limbs, branches, or even logs. After you get a pile of them, maybe you could steep them with alcohol or maybe even some kind of oil, making them burn hotter (ie, tinctures).

or we could make it simple and simply have a command to bank a fire which would in effect create charcoal.build a fire of say logs or branches and bank it and the pieces of wood are converted to charcoal at a 4:1 ratio.make it take some time.and in the mech split it could teach a little alchemy
