Anyone have any good stealth training tips? Having a hell of a time getting stealth to move at a decent pace on mobs that I'm able to rapidly move other skills at the same ranks (Tactics, weapons etc).

Currently my pattern is:

1. Advance
2. Hide
3. Stalk
4. Attack
5. Face Next
6. Repeat

Not having an issue actually getting hidden, just learns crazy slow. Perhaps there is a better method I could be using?

For reference this is on Granite Gargs at 128 Ranks using highest shadows I can manage while wearing leather armor.

I tried moving up to something like dire bears but was not even able to hide on them.

Thanks for any feedback!

Maybe try thugs in the sewers? But you have to deal with the silverfish, which are annoying. I have similar hiding to you, but mine was gained 100% from shoplifting.

I'm assuming this is a moon mage character.

Take off your body armor or all your armor and you should have better luck hiding on bears or any other creature with perception high enough to confound your stealth. Train discipline and reflexes if you have spare tdps.

Hide, stalk bear, stalk second, stalk third, stalk fourth, unhide, loop.

If you have sorcery skills or a wm friend rising mists works great in conjunction with shadows when it's tough to stay hidden.

If you're worried about getting hit without armor on and you've a moon in the sky, use whole displacement to stay out of melee.

I find most times that it's my choice of shield which is hindering me the most. So before I go into Stealth mode, I remove the shield and switch to an evasion/parry stance. Generally saves me from taking off all the armor.

You say to Tathalus, "Have you ever tried to clean a troll den? The smell sticks around for years to come."
Liev says, "That is my cue to leave."

I have found that poaching at melee will stretch out the range of stealth learning a bit.
