As the title says, Us people without spellbooks need scholarship training methods, just throw any item in the game you can do over and over to lock it, like you can the rest of the game skills.

Soim posts, actually overall Valcer is correct.
Kapi posts,Yup Valcer may sometimes put his point across in a rather abrupt way, but often its just him getting carried away due to his passion and desire to want the guild to progress and improve.

Before he left the staff, Talian made some changes to learning scholarship from reading books in the library. I'm not sure how it works at higher levels but I hear it teaches decently to at least 100 ranks if you want to invest the time in reading.

Reading books slows down on teaching after 100 ranks, as well as several other methods of learning.

The only way I have found to train scholarship effectively and to have it keep teaching well as you gain more ranks (200+) is folding origami. You can do this over and over, but it comes with a price. Considering the low end cost for a spellbook is 400 plat, you could just fold 32,000 sheets of paper for the same price.

Also, spellbooks start slowing down in their ability to teach effectively after 150 ranks. But, then you could always sell the book after this point.

I paid 80 for mine. Book, case, and accessories. Did they change the meaning of "low end" to "fully loaded" without telling me?

Sorry, Arcelebor. I was referring to someone wanting to purchase one now. The point was kind of moot if you already had one, since you wouldn't be asking for the spellbook merchant to come back.

frankly, listening or teaching classes teach better and longer than any of the other choices. If you're going to be sitting around all that time anyway, might as well teach a class. I tried a spellbook once, and tried reading once... neither worked as well for me as teaching

Problem with that idea about classes is its harder to find classes in Plat, and we have no spellbooks here at all it seems :( I've just relegated myself to using Origami. Mech Lore here I come!

I haven't seen any spellbooks in TF either. but it isn't that hard to find a class here.
79-100 people isn't as difficult of a population as 15-20 either though. :-)

Libraries work fine til 200, just depends on the timer you use to turn the pages. The longer the timer between pages, the more you learn. Studying patterns works great if you know how to use them as well. And first fold of origamina still teaches me a learning rate per fold. Just don't fold the paper, stow it and save it for later. All very viable options, leave scholarship the way it is. Valcer is just crying and looking for an easy way out like he did with HT.
