An extensive guild security upgrade is now live, here are the details.

Tallis has a rather large monk stationed outside the guildhall. His job is to watch for trouble and respond to your needs, should you ask him to remove someone from the guild.

A cleric of approriate status is able to ASK MONK FOR REMOVAL OF SNERT. If Snert is a non guild member, and at least two such clerics ask, he will see to it they are removed from the guild complex, regardless of what room they are in at the time. In addition, for a time they will not be allowed back in.

Yes, thats right, regardless of what room they are in, you can have Snert removed. The catch is, you need to get up and go ask the monk to see to it.

Also, the monk has a keen eye for those who are branded. Branded persons cannot get into our guild, unless they have the brand removed. Even a branded corpse will be denied access, UNLESS a cleric is the one who drags them in, and even then the monk will point out to the cleric that the person is branded.

The monk is a jolly, big sort of brute, and enjoys his job and likes to greet each cleric who visits the guild. Let me warn you in advance, the monk is not one to mess with. The monk has the brand ability and will use it himself. Non-clerics should be very careful not to anger him.

There is room for many more responses to questions that you might ask the monk. At this years Simucon, I will be asking clerics to help me write up the little things that will help bring him to life.

I want to thank our new liaison in training, who shall yet remain nameless for help with testing, and with the creative aspects of the monk. I am very excited about the new liaison, and dont think it will be long before you get a formal introduction.

In other related news, I have removed the safe area status in the chapel. I have given you an IC means of handling many situations, first with brand, and now with this added security. I have always felt "safe areas" were very OOC.
