Recently, there were some changes to how thrown weapons and missile weapons react when they lodge into a creature. Basically, the harder they lodge, the less chance they will dislodge and/or the longer it will take for them to "naturally" dislodge. Also, if an area is "destroyed" by a particularly nasty shot, the weapon will not lodge, rather it will fall to the ground.

Next week, there will be some more changes made that will benefit thrown weapon and missile weapon users.

Weapons that are thrown will, for a certain amount of time, only be able to be picked up by the person that threw them, much like when an item is dropped. If you leave the item on the ground for too long, it is free game, but for general use, thrown weapons will be protected from random "walk in, grab, and run" type theft.

In addition, when weapons become dislodged from a creature, they will now message the owner that their weapon is now on the ground.

For example:

(Owner sees) A spear lodged in a small grendel comes free and falls to the ground. That's your spear which was lodged in small grendel.

ALSO, when the weapon fall to the ground, it will only be able to be picked up by the owner for a certain amount of time, again, just like if you dropped an item.

:)
