About four of the Societies being ready to go, that's just a rumor, so don't get your hopes up. The Societies will probably come out one at a time, as they're done, and it's going to be a very long process, one which hasn't even started yet save for initial planning.
About the Riverhaven elemental showing people to the door instead of the stairs, that's been fixed.
About the request for some non-frozen water spells for the Water Book, yes, he'll make some next time he works on that book. :)
On a levitation cantrip, no. The Moon Mages have a planned spell called "Telekinetic Levitation" and we're not going to make a cantrip that does what a spell does. Also, "If WMs ever get the ability to fly, it'll be part of a huge system that's not even in the "maybe someday" pile right now. <G>"
Gauthus no longer throws dead bodies down into the Sanctuary.
A "the ground shakes" type message has been added into the Selective Tremor spell.
On a permanent practice rune in the guild to give newbies their first few ranks of MD skill, it's on his list. He says he'll try and work on it ASAP, but I don't interpret that to mean any time this week. :)
About the guild leaders telling people specifically which spells they need when they can't get the one they ask for because of prereqs, he doesn't want to do this for several reasons. First is technical, it would be difficult to code. Second is that the spell list on the web site shows all the prereqs, so you don't even have to remember the URL of your favorite Warmage magic web page any more, and it's very easy to check if you get the "You can't have that spell" message. Third, he'd rather that you talk to each other to find out that kind of info if you want to get it in-game.
On a guild-organized apprenticeship program, we'd rather you work out an apprentice system for yourselves. There's no reason everyone has to use the same system; whatever works for you and your apprentice or master/mistress is fine. :)
About setting up the Warmage guilds so that if a non-Warmage logs off inside, they come back into the game outside, Atrathien's going to look at that and see if it's technically possible. We can set up a room so that no player can log in inside it, but singling out one profession to be able to log in and tossing all the others outside might not be workable. He'll take a look at it, though.
About making the inside of the Warmage guilds barred to companions, he's going to talk to Smitty about it and see if it's possible.
About the group-casting idea (to which I added a few ideas of my own), he's going to think about it, but if he does decide to do it, it won't be for a long time. It'd be a huge system and there are too many other things with a more immediate need.
That's it for this time. :)

Hi all. <wave> I'm out of town visiting my mom right now. She has a Mac and I'm trying to get used to it. I might actually be on the boards a bit more often this coming week, since there are a lot of other tasks I've been working on that I can't do away from my computer and my files and such. So unless my mom drags me out to do a lot of stores and activities and stuff I should be around at least a couple more times this week. :)
On being able to pick up stone fists and such and use them for ammo, that's intentional. They decay if you leave them on the ground to reduce trash build-up, but if you pick them up they're yours.
On the weird message about being unable to join a group when you try to join the guild, that should be fixed.
On being able to tell how hard a critter would be to hit with a targetted spell, he's thinking about it and looking into some options.
On gargoyles being immune to fire, that's how they were designed until and unless the GM who built them decides to change that. IOW, they're immune to fire and don't hold your breath waiting for it to change. :)
On Aether Lash requiring Gar Zeng, nothing is set in concrete until the spell has been released, and even then there might be some changes. It's not worth getting all annoyed about at this point.
Being wounded doesn't directly affect the evasion penalty as Atrathien built it. It might affect some other stat which does penalize your evasion, though. So Atrathien didn't add anything in, but if there is an evasion penalty for being wounded then it's part of some other system and has been there all along.
On the TM evasion penalty and specific targetting, he's looking into it as a possibility, no promises.
On being able to pour water globes into containers, he'll look into how easy it would be to do. Again no promises, but maybe.
About seeing how the environment affects your spells, the intention is that you'll learn how to get this info by looking to see whether you're in a water room, observing the weather, that sort of thing. There are no plans to make this an automatic push-button thing.
About a shield making you basically immune to targetted spells, that's something he's looking at fixing with the TM changes.
On being able to get experience targetting eyeballs on creatures much weaker than you, that's going to be fixed. You'll need to hunt near your level -- not necessarily right at it, but close -- to learn.
On not being able to recognize critter spells, Atrathien thought you could. He'll be taking a look at it.

I asked him about non-spell abilities, and he said he's not opposed to the idea but they need to be something that's more useful than a cantrip but less useful than a spell. I.e., an ability would have to be something that doesn't fit comfortably into either system.
About Chain Lightning being castable indoors, and more likely to hit some PCs than monsters, it's on his list of things to fix.
Someone in Plat asked that spell duration and such be shown in IC time. I added a request that it be toggleable for folks who don't want to be doing conversions in their head in combat. :) It's on the list, but not a priority.
About the SD issue, he's double-checked the code and tested it several times, but can't find any problems. It's still not doing any less damage than it was last time he posted, and it does more damage with more mana.
About making Earth Sense castable on others, that makes it too much like a couple of other spells planned for the Moon Mages and Clerics.
I asked him whether it was productive to ask you to post your opinions on which spells should or shouldn't be affected by MR. He said that there's no point in doing so right now, since until he and Maelona decide the IC rationale for it, you have nothing to base your opinions on. :) So for right now hang in there and as soon as we have something to go by, we'll let you know and the discussion can roll.
Someone asked about TM and its being teachable. He says it's teachable because that's how it was originally set up, but he doesn't like it that way and it might change when the new system goes in.
