The reason it's not customizable is twofold. First, balancing it would be more difficult since Min/Maxers would customize it for maximum gain. Second, it would complicate the system (which is already complex) further and I'm worried about the impact on game speed at high usage levels.

The argument that rangers should not have tracking unde this system or thieves not to be under it for hiding is legitimate enough that if their guild gurus request it I'd be happy to remove those for those professions.

I'm also asking about magical devices among the other GMs. If they agree, MD will be removed from the list of skills under the alternate system.
