Greetings all,
Having been given permission by His Grace Baron Gyfford to hold fundraising events to help raise money for building an arena in Therengia, I hereby announce the first tournaments!
Tournament rules: No pre-fight buffs or abilities. During the fight, anything goes. All fights will use CHALLENGE mechanics. Healers and clerics will be on hand for accidents and healing.
Tournament location: Inside the Therenborough Ampitheater. From the city gate, n, n, e, e, n, ne, ne, n, ne, go amphitheater, n, go door, e
Tournament date/time: Saturday, 11/5/05. 9pm est.
This first tournament will be three separate tournaments for folks in three separate tiers. Tier 1 will include 1st through 10th circle. Tier 2 11th through 20th circle. Tier 3 21st through 30th circle. Each tier has a different entry fee.
Entry fees: Tier 1 5 silver lirums. Tier 2 1 gold lirum. Tier 3 5 gold lirums. All proceeds will be combined with donations received and be presented to the Baron and/or the Lord Chamberlain for inclusion in the funding of the new arena construciton.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers of each tier. Prizes may be drawn from a current stash of donated prizes, or may be paid out as a percentage of the entry fee proceeds on the following schedule: 1st 15%, 2nd 10%, 3rd 5%. Final decision on prizes is up to me, but will be one of the two structures mentioned above.

Doubtful since it's in town, but you're welcome to go check for yourself. It's why I posted directions.

The Ampitheater is currently set up to neither penalize or help anyone's bonuses so rangers and thieves should have no problems fighting in there. Because it's an inside environment with no trees or overhanging rocks it will however not be friendly towards wilderness type spells such as earth meld and blend which should be for obvious reasons. Since it was built long ago it doesn't have any of the newer arena mechanics but it should still be fine for challenge type battles.

Thanks for the reply on that Alvy! Great to know. I knew about the viewing and points mechanics, and I've had a couple friends scout out the mana in th' various rooms. Lookin forward to holding these for everyone's enjoyment.

when i tourney i don't care about RP.
It's like the first person shooter version or DR. At those times we care about mechanics.
I'm not ranger but i'd like rangers to be able to hb/hb/em/etc.
