I am in the market for a Leather/Cloth armor that covers the torso and arms. I guess if I put my nose to the grindstone, I could afford Titanese (sp)Hauberk that I see in the market. Other than that, what are the better, affordable choices? I go around appraising, various sets in the plaza...but can't get a real grasp on what is "good" and what isn't.

Any suggestions?

If titanese has too much of a price tag, you might want to consider ruazin wool. It's not quite as protective as titanese, but far more protective than standard cloths like buralap, wool, or silk. Likewise, it's roughly half the weight of titanese, so it won't hinder you as much overall. The only real downside to ruazin is the durability issue, which will lead you to repair it more often than you would other materials.
