My Strength is 34 and my Agility is 40 looking to get a bastard sword what type of stats would i be looking for?

Also with those stats could i get a better he or 2he by going with a broadsword or claymore or something like that?

Top of the line HE and 2HE there, also includes a link to RT calculator at bottom.

Assuming you get a sword that is equally suited for strength as it is agility, you're looking at 43-44 stones max while still getting min RT. At that weight (and especially for claymores) odds are a bit lighter because they'll be more strength heavy (heavier the sword, more suited for strength, less agility) and thus your lower strength will matter more.

Here's basic options....browse that link yourself though too...

Bastard swords
28 stone l/h/p f/f and l/s/l r/f well constructed 25 plat
36 stone l/g/l f/f and l/s/f r/r well constructed 30 plat

Broads
21 stone l/h/l f/f mod strong 18 plat [Tessaa's Note - I think it's generally accepted you can get r/f on a 21 stone broad if you bring it down to fairly sturdy]
28 stone l/h/l f/f mod storng 18 plat
34 stone l/h/f f/r mod strong 18 plat

Claymores
34-36 stone l/bc/f d/r mod strong 18 plat
37-42 stone l/bc/f d/r well constructed 18 plat

2HE - Claymores will do a lot more damage, bastard swords are a lot better suited for agility (makes them better for parrying as well).
HE - Overall, I like broads.

Course, one bastard sword is cheaper/easier.

And just for hicks and giggls,
43 stone p/h/m d/w mod strong 18 plat
I gonna pick up that axe I think once I get around to training strength....lowest stat and I need to even it out and that fellow could be fun.

I've been thinking about a forged bastie and digging in this folder found this great link. (Thanks Tessaa!) I was wondering if that price is pretty competitive? I can't seem to find any other websites and I live in shard so checking the tables regularly is well, hard. I still have a looong way to go with the way I make money, but I just wanted to get an opinion.

I dont know if weight is an issue, but you can get a 28 stone bastard sword with the same stats at around that price

With the same construction, suitedness and balance? I'm pretty much terrible at checking for damage on my gear, and I have the stats to get close to min RT on my 36 scim, so weight is not that big a deal.

I also take it to mean that you think 30 plat is a pretty good price? A card collection is close to that amount right?

Get mod strong and you'll pretty much never damage it. Well contructed is just gravy usually.

Is there any 2HE that compares to a Gurt-built 28 stone bastie for balance and damage? Don't really plan to switch, just seems that everyone has a bastie and I'd like a different look.

I believe the lightest a claymore or two-handed sword can get is around 34 stones but neither of them has the balance or utility of a bastard sword when using plain steel.
