Anyone know where I can pick up a non-expenxive HE axe that has more of a look than a Crossing battle axe? Can't afford much more than a plat, but this weapon would be more in line with how I invision Alde. Thanks!

There are HT throwing axes on the Jaal Jeraya right now, they are quite heavy though, around 60-70 stones. They do, however, have both looks and verbs. They're base price is under a plat kronar, but there is usually a markup since anyone who can get them paid quite a bit for the fest. Otherwise, there are a lot of axes from various fests with a lot of different looks and nothing special in stats that you might be able to get for a plat or so too.

Well a couple thoughts- as I recall Tiger Clan has a "hooked" battle axe- was one of my first weapons ever many ages ago. SCC has the swappable axe that is both he/the- it either runs 1 plat or 10 plat I can't remember now. And I think that Theran has an axe that looks abit differant.

One other thought- take a regular Crossing battle axe and get it died- you can get some interesting looks to it from that.

I think you're thinking about the Massive Double-Bladed Broadaxe from Tiger clan, goes for 5000 kronar. I used one for a while, but got a forged bastard sword when I got the coin, but I think that's a two-hander.

In Steelclaw clan, there a couple HE axes: the Heavy-headed Battle Axe (not customizable) for 10824 dokoras and the Axe (swappable HE/2HE) for 135300 (yep, 13.5 plat). Look on the bright side, you can customize the axe with 14 different handle options for just a few dokoras extra (hell, yer dropping almost 14 plat on a axe, what not?). Don't ask me what the appraisals are, I'm not that skilled.

Hope that helps,

I'm not either, but I cheat and use Indigoe's chart.

HE Mode: n/m/m d/r
2HE Mode: p/g/h p/w

46 stones

The single-handed stats are nothing to really write home about, except for the impact. In 2-handed, however, it'd be almost like carrying around a Lochaber Axe with the same weight of a regular Crossing battle-axe. (Which is the exact same stats as the swappable Axe in one-handed mode.)

So basically, the answer to the original question is that the stats for a HE axe tend to be n/m/m, 46 stones. And the cheapest are the hooked battle-axe from Tiger Clan and the standard battle axes available just about anywhere. All of which, by the by, are priced at 7 silver coins.

The Recade is a axe, but lacks the "axe" name, so folks go around going, what is a Recade? Typical response concerning the Leth Deriel weapons. Don't ask me, I don't know what it is either, but it is an axe. Expensive too, but it does have a wave verb.

Just face it, Axes get no respect in DR.

Very true. Let's hope that's corrected with P5.
