I was wondering if there was anyway that one might be able to see how one was holding a sword. Such as if one was holding it with two hands or one without swapping it back and forth. It would be much easier if one could just see which hand it was in than in the middle of swinging it, switch it back and forth.

Appraise it. That will show you which mode you have your weapon in.

Maybe an RT-free version of "appraise" would be helpful? It could teach nothing and give only the information not requiring skill to see.

You see a blood-red sword in your right hand and nothing in your left hand.
>appraise sword glance
The sword is a heavy-edged weapon.

Not sure what except type is given for free, though. Condition, maybe?

It appears best suited to slicing attacks.

Well as far as easy goes, swap still seems pretty easy to me. Either you end up with the way you want it after the first try, or you dont and you swap again, both without roundtime.

true, but sometimes in the middle of swings I can't always get two commands in while reading the output of the first. Would be nice if we could tell how we were holding a sword. You know it seems kind of common sense to know how one is holding a sword.
