I have a Gnome Moon Mage and I thought it'd be neat to have him use HE.

What's the lowest weight forged bastard sword that's readily available? I'm not even real concerned about it's offensive power, I just need something light for a character with 10-12 STR/STAM. What kind of RT am I looking at?

Oh, and how much would it cost?

If you want just an heavy edged weapon I would stay clear of longswords. Their balance if horrible. If you want light weight and balance, I would suggest a 21 stone broadsword. They can be reasonable balance.

Well, just because it affords me the opportunity to switch it to 2HE and do some dabbling in that without having to carry another weapon. I'm carrying very few items and I already have burden troubles.

How much does that broadsword run, and is there a comparably-weighted basty? And who makes 'em? And is that the lightest available?

21 stones sounds pretty nice for my Gnome. If I can't get a bastard sword down around that weight, I think I'll probably go with the broadsword and pick up a basty once I get some more effective strength. How can I get in touch with you Drevid? You have a trader selling them in Crossing or anything? I'll hopefully be free sometime this weekend.

Get the bastard sword, you'll be pretty bored after your moon mage locks HE in 25 seconds waiting for it to pulse down, this way it might take at least 50 seconds before you have to sit around and wait for HE and 2HE.
