In a nutshell, the better the puncture, the heavier and less balanced it is and the lighter is is the better the balance is and I think construction kind of sucks either way. Its possible to get mod puncture but you sacrifice a great deal of balance. None of the LE forging templates are very appealing in my opinion.

an etched steel briquet is 12500 Kronars

The razor sharp edge is acid-etched with multiple rows of shark teeth.

An etched steel briquet is a light edged melee-ranged weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
moderate puncture damage
low slice damage
poor impact damage

You are certain that the briquet is reasonably balanced and is poorly suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the briquet is of average strength, and is in pristine condition.

The briquet is made with metal.
You are certain that the briquet weighs exactly 18 stones.
You are certain that the briquet is worth exactly 12500 kronars

Jambiya is better if I recall correctly. Same basic stab rating, but has decent slice.

Jamb has less puncture, more slice. Briq is a great LE stabber.

Briq is alright, but not as good as the Jambiya at higher ranks compared. I've used both and I fall back on the jambiya everytime. The briq just doesn't hit as good that I see.

You mean for backstab, normal combat or both?

Both actually. I tend to get better hits with my Jambiya than with the Briquett on open combat and backstabbing.

In 300s LE for me, I like the briq better for straight power stabbing. The jamb is nice because of what the slice "allows" you to do, I like the jamb better for straight combat. I think both are great weapons, worth giving a try and seeing what you think.

Briq should be more suited, so that could be the diff.
