I see the "battle axe" option in the pound help listing--what are the stats on a nice forged battle axe?
I'm looking for a weapon with nice slice and impact damage, and the highest weight I can go is 46ish stones unless I want to go into the 4/6 RT range.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It isn't 2HE.
Weapons:
broadsword, rapier, maul, short sword, morning star, hand axe, carving knife, dagger, cutlass, scimitar, hunting sword, longsword, battle axe, greatsword, war hammer, war club, mace, flanged mace, flail, war mattock, foil, halberd, pike, kris, stiletto, falcata, baselard, sabre, bastard sword, claymore, two-handed sword, katar, misericorde, spear, javelin, lance, dart, throwing dagger.
Out of the above...the two-handed edged are greatsword, two-handed sword, bastard sword, and claymore but the bastard sword uses HE skill as the primary skill in forging them.
Axes - hand axe is ME, battle axe is HE.

Right, but I was more or less looking for good slice and impact. Like maybe great slice great impact, or severe slice heavy impact--something along those lines.

A greatsword is a two-handed edged pole-ranged weapon.
You are certain that it could do:
low puncture damage
devastating slice damage
moderate impact damage
You are certain that the greatsword is poorly balanced and is well suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.
You are certain that the greatsword is quite hard, and is in pristine condition.
The greatsword is made with metal.
You are confident that the greatsword might weigh a few tens of stones.
You are certain that the greatsword is worth exactly 2000 lirums.

>I'm pretty sure fair impact is the best you can get on forged 2HE. That's the highest impact Magdar has listed on his site also.
Are you sure a forged claymore or greatsword can't get better than fair with a little extra weight? If not, that's silly. My festival claymore (from Steeled Resolve) is something like low/severe/heavy dismal/well and weighs a touch over 50 stones (not an exact app, cause I'm at work). I'd be shocked if the GMs actually let something be sold by a festival merchant or store that was better than what players could make (which, is a stiff no-no I've been told before).

Ahh nice, anyway to maybe get that weight toned down a bit, and maybe lower the slice and up the impact?

I'm using the a fancier version of the SCC axe which is a swappable HE/2HE weapon at 46 stones.
HE: none/mod/mod dismal/reasonably
2HE: poor/great/heavy poor/well
So far I really like the damage output. It is working better for me than my bastard sword which was poor/severe/low reason/reason
You can lead a mage to mana, but you cant make 'em think.

Right, that is the weapon that got me thinking about "What if someone could forge on this mold? They'd more than likely be able to get it lighter AND more effective!"
This is sadly far from the case then, I am guessing?
It's those kind of weapon stats that I'm after, except a bit lighter. I really wish we could get a forge mold for that weapon.

My own forged greatsword
A greatsword is a two-handed edged pole-ranged weapon.
You are certain that it could do:
low puncture damage
severe slice damage
heavy impact damage
You are certain that the greatsword is poorly balanced and is reasonably suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.
You are certain that the greatsword is very strong, and is in pristine condition.
The greatsword is made with metal.
You think it is likely that the greatsword weighs around 65 stones.
even ground twice on edge.

I believe forged greatswords minimum weight is like 50, and need to be 60+ to hit from pole or something weird like that.
Is there a specific reason you are looking to get impact along with your slice?
Scale for impact on 2HE from highest to lowest, balance from lowest to highest, and slice from highest to lowest is roughly claymore -> greatsword -> two-handed sword -> bastard sword with claymore and greatsword closer together than two-handed swords and bastard swords.

I like the unbalancing, weapon/armor breaking qualities of high impact weapons, but I also like the pure destructive aspect of slicing weapons.
In addition, I don't typically like the look of the pure impact 2HB weapons--that is why I made the switch to 2HE. I was just hoping I could find high impact in exchange for reduced slice damage in this catagory though.

You are saying that claymores have the potential for higher impact damage than greatswords? Is it possible to get a heavy-great impact claymore at less than 46 stones?

In general...yes because they start lower in weight but I believe greatswords cap higher (not certain but I think that is how it works).
As far as is it possible, I believe so, but I'm not sure how much slice you would be giving up to get that impact.

You may also like to try the 2HE's sold in Flargo's tent from the last two festivals. I dont have the claymore that he sold but I do have the two-handed sword and flamberge.

Back in the day (heh, can I say that without a last name?) when I started training with the Lochabar I parried with it. The construction is better than most pike/halberds/spears I suppose but it still took a beating and relative to my bastie was no contests. Keep in mind that repair fees on a 16 plat item can get steep, fast. Long story short, use shield, its good for the soul.

It doesn't, it is poorly balanced, and the dead low end of it, so it's only a tiny smidgen above dismally balanced.
I finally got to the point of being able to swing it at minimum RT, but was severely disappointed at how it preformed because it's so damn inaccurate, not to mention it doesn't parry too great and doesn't have good construction at all.
I knew it was poorly balanced, but I guess I was just assuming it would be on the mid or high end it, but after it was preforming so badly I went to confirm its balance using compares, only to find it was really bad. =(
I'd stick with a forged two-handed sword, if you forgo grinding them for slice (increasing slice decreases impact) they have a decent amount of impact. Not as much as claymores or greatswords, but they're still balanced so you can actually hit something with them.
