What to hunt? Crocs are too unpredictable to be realistic hunting - especially when someone gets in there and just stands with 4 for hours on end.
Hoping to avoid creatures requiring bless...and would prefer skinnable since I don't mess with boxes. Also hoping to stay closer to the main land...ratha and aesry currently out of the question.

There's lots of options.. skinnable narrows it a bit
Young/Normal Red Brocket Deer (Lang)
Small Peccs (Lang)
La'tami (Shard)
Vipers (Crossing or Riverhaven)
Barghest (Daytime only, night are tougher - Riverhaven)
Frosty Bears (Hib)
Hegg Boars (Throne)
My recommendation would be deer or vipers though.. vipers you could transition into leucros eventually, deer you can move up to the next tier.
