How many defensive ranks are needed to hunt these without being hit on every attack? I currently have close to 140 in both evasion and shield but get hit every time?

The peccaries will take about 160 or so to not get hit regularly. IIRC, I started with about 155 or so, but didn't reach the safety point until about 160 a couple months ago.

Thank you. I don't mind a challenge but the way they spawned on me it would of been a slaughter if I didn't back out before they all got to melee

Charging is a pretty decent offensive boost or something, so the peccs may still be able to reliably hit you with a charge even after they wiff consistently with most every other attack.
