Anyone know the soft cap for fledgling/baby gryphons in shard? My shield and parry have REALLY slowed down at 295 and 315 respectively. And all of a sudden too.

I was locking quickly in babies until over 400 ranks of shield.

The hard cap for shield is 443 ranks. It is fairly sudden, too -- you don't get much of a gradual decline in experience before you stop learning.
