Sows have stopped moving my paladins defenses at all at 105 here, and have become tedious to train weapons on in the mid 80s. Does anyone have a skinnable recommendation for what to hunt next given the narrowed teaching ranges in 3.1?

Silver Leucro - Deer - Deer - suffer - Deer - Gryphons

Somewhat modified by guild choice and buff availability.

Wasn't sure where Sleucs fell in a post 3.1 world. I'll give them a try, had just assumed they'd be too hard.

The smallest deer in 3.1 don't seem to train much past 109 in defenses.

Silver Leucros likely won't move your defenses at all past 100. I just moved on from them to gargoyles. I got smacked around quite a bit in the beginning however.

Ok, so nobody has any good suggestions?

What about non-skinnable? Would vines/etc. still move pretty well post 3.1 for the 80-110+ range?

I used granite gargoyles and snowbeasts at that range. They will teach up to about 125 ranks these days.

I'm currently doing a Ratha Romp with a newbie now. Sprites - Sow - Swain - Hatchlings without any serious problems, minimal buffage. Skinning takes a hit though.

Try the Steeds out of the south gate of Shard past the trolls area. As I recall they were a good bridge to get to snow beast gargoyles.

Might also want to try river caiman up in Throne. They are slightly harder than theren blood wolves, which should get you a little farther along to be able to jump to snowbeast/gargs.

The skeletal/zombie kobolds in the Church out in the Darkmist Moors in Ilithi should train you in that range quite well. Skins, boxes, coins/gems and smart spawn. I know 85ish-100 with buffs was good enough to only get tagged once in awhile for a Paladin in that range.

They do enjoy throwing things at you though, fair warning.
