Do Goblin/boars only come out at certain times?

I used to worry about having them stumble across me when I ran to the Clerics guild but now I can't find them to hunt them.

I go to the middle of the trail, hunt, and sit for 10 minutes- nothing.

I presume you're talking about near Boar Clan. Since 3.0 I've found them in the northern and western parts and not between the trails.

I always used to hunt them in the very western portion near the river. I'll check when I get down there later.

About 5 seconds after stopping in that room. Maybe 10 after entering the area.

[Hunter's Glade, Riverside]
A viny heap of small leaf ivy cascades down the bank to the river below. Caught in the tangled tendrils are twigs, dried leaves and slender longleaf pine needles bundled together like tiny whiskbrooms. Small brown chipmunks occasionally peek out from the ivy's leafy cover to scout the area for predators before venturing out.
Obvious paths: north, east, south.

The damaska boar is still a distance away from you and is closing steadily.
