In this topic's name and description, the word "collectible" is misspelled as "collectable."

The -able variant is alive and well, but "collectible" seems to be the preferred spelling, especially in American English. (Even Google search results confirm this.)

Merriam Webster also lists "alright" as a variant of "all right," "hone in" as a variant of "home in," "mischievious" as a variant of "mischievous," "publically" as a variant of "publicly," "reoccur" as a variant of "recur," and "sherbert" as a variant of "sherbet".
It says that "fatal" means fateful, "flaunt" means flout, "fearful" means fearsome, and "infer" means imply.
That's hardly a source that I would turn to for guidance.

Acknowledged as a nonstandard though long-standing consequence of the uncommon mispronunciation.

As far as I can tell it actually doesn't, even though both mean "to happen again" just with different nuances.

Sorbet is just a crazy word with a dozen variants in multiple languages, mostly distinguished by whether there is dairy content. Hell, syrup is derived from the same origin. Sherbert is how it is usually pronounced in America though, and most dictionaries acknowledge this.
tl;dr - dictionaries follow how the language is used, and M-W is one of the best. Most of your examples are fully explained when merited.

Most dictionaries are descriptivist (merely recording how language is used, rather than prescribing standards of correctness). If that is your idea of a good dictionary, then Merriam-Webster is certainly among the best.

So, basically, anything that disagrees with you is wrong, and foolish?
I chose M-W because it's a world famous dictionary, and they don't typically get that way simply because everyone likes having a spider-squasher or emergency bog-paper.
There has to be a refference somewhere, which would you recommend?
