That's basically all I'm trying to say, too.
And of course they have no problem with doing that to forging or fletching, because now they can try their hand at other people's cash-cows, and keep their nify enchantments for themselves. And no, my barb is not my only character, and I'd be equally dismayed if they were keeping things as they are now, but only throwing MM enchanting into careers instead. It makes no sense, and it won't to me until the playing field is represented as even.
But then again, I have to rethink my basic assumptions that have been stated by GMs as fact for what's going to happen because hey.. I don't agree, therefore, I'm wrong. Nice.
-All mundane creation systems are going into careers. With the exception of lockpick making (that may also have been mention, but I can't recall exactly at this time), this has been stated directly in the careers folder.
-The enchanting creation systems are going to be guild-only (as they should be) leaving the two guilds that have them the options of utilizing 2 creation systems at once to their full potential.
-Noone will be able to master more than once career, any secondary hall which you join (and you can only join one secondary hall at a time), you may only reach journyman level in.
So until the GMs recend what they've said on the matter, that's just exactly what it is.
Not surprised to see you yawning Trebber, you're a WM. heh
But I have nothing really more to add to anything, so I guess I'm done here. Feel free to tell me what I should be assuming based on what has been handed to us, but for now, I just agree to disagree.

Heh, I am yawning because it is the same conversation which has been going on and on for months in numerous folders.
You summed it up pretty well with your next statement.
<<But I have nothing really more to add to anything
Only advice I can offer is to wait and see what happens. I am very confident the GMs working on careers have read all the inputs and will have everyone's concerns in mind.

I'm glad that at least one person thinks that they will be able to make more money by both forging and enchanting weapons, but you will never be able to keep up with my warmie and his pet trader or barb, whichever the top forging class happens to be at tht time. I will almost certainly be able to make forged weapons of a higher quality than another warrior mage, and supply them to my own warmie for free, and enchant them while my barb (or trader) works on a new one.
Just my thoughts.
Just my thoughts.

A barbarian's inherent understanding of weapons makes him or her a natural at the forge. Anyone can forge a crude weapon, but only barbarians can produce legendary quality weapons sought after by all.
Which is a load of bull poop anyway. Using a weapon and understanding it's craft have about as much in common as night and day.
You gesture at Vaschon.
A bolt of bluish lightning blazes out of the sky towards Vaschon!
The bolt blasts through the head in an explosion of mangled, smoky flesh!
Roundtime: 2 seconds.
Vaschon turns its tail to the sky for the last time.

So you're a GM now Elriic? And you're formally retracting that bit of the guild's description for the GMs who wrote it? News to me.
Being that barbarians are weapon primary tends to lend to the notion that we know more about weapons in general, therefore learning them faster, etc. ad nauseum. Just as we don't know (in most cases care) about lore, and learn them at a tertiary rate. A guild is more than just "I can use this better and use this set of abilities".
Anyway, that subject's been trolled to death, and doesn't need to be brought back up again. Just go read the last few episodes and pretend you participated. Thanks.

I find it rather amazing how much the barbs, and rangers, and urban rangers are whining when they've been rich for how long? Let's see here...... do any WM's own a BOAT? how 'bout clerics and bards? isn't it about TIME that we had an edge for a little while? I know the rich are greedy, and want to keep all their money and money potential to theirselves, but ..... geeze um!
Have good adventures all.

I know a WM that can make quite a bit of money from hunting, could probably own a boat by now if they wanted to or cared to...I can see clerics making quite a bit of money also with adanf and there ability to kill them in one hit or maybe two. And i have also seen some insane bards out hunting too with there yells or whatever when they stun the whole room. guess my point is you can make money with almost every guild if you know how to.

Don't assume that all members of any Guild are rich. There are a few wealthy Rangers, but that hardly speaks for the rest of the Guild. Some of us may have the ability to be rich, but so does every other Guild if they choose to make use of it.

<< Don't assume that all members of any Guild are rich. >>
I don't recall ever insinuating I think all the members of any guild are rich. what I AM saying is, those guilds in particular, (other guilds just weren't mentioned) have the ability to become filthy rich. And plenty of the members do so. yes, any one can become wealthy, by doing a traders job (don't have to be a trader to buy low, sell high) or, learn how to fight Adam'f, and other high level beasties. I realize that most barbs don't get their mark, 'till they can beat up adam'f, I understand rangers don't make their best armor 'till they can arrange a uh, whatcha call it thing out toward horse clan, and empaths can't do their most sought after thing untill they've learned every (or at least nearly) spell in their books.
What does git me, is that they're so intimidated by the WM's finally getting a creation system, with which to make some good money.

I don't think this quite hits any guild vs. guild so here goes
<<If one creation going to careers, no reason enchanting shouldn't too.">>
Very well all enchanting systems can move into the career system. Unfortunatly for you who do not practice the specific magic needed (i.e. elemental for WM's, lunar for MM or holy eventually) your rank in the career will remain 0 from lack of achievement.
<<Loosing an ability, oh like forging.>>
Once again I'll post this. GM's have posted teasers about how !!!BARBARIANS ARE GETTING A NEW CREATION SYSTEM!!! If you don't know what it is maybe you should go read some of the older postings.
