So...idea...

We have a handful of tickets that have sold for August. What if we did the following:

1) We take all the quest groups down for August and give the few folks who have bought tickets a Rain Check.

2) In it's place, we put up another quest like Gnome Quest or something that would run pretty cheaply and be a smaller time-commitment to give folks something to do.

3) Spend a couple weeks making some changes that would include some or all of the following:

* Different and/or revamped end loot (I already want to change a couple things for various reasons)
* More/different incidentals along the way (armor for sure, a container or two certainly wouldn't be out of the question)
* Added assassin-like loot to another non-spoilered encounter (shhhh!)
* Made the assassin drop two items (a weapon or armor plus a container/clothing item/etc?)
* Removed the Special Item (this is a definite change no matter what)
* Various tweaks to the clues/hints for the puzzles that I've wanted to make
* Keep the loot roll bonus where it's at
* Reset the ticket limit restriction

4) Re-open the quest somewhere around at the $39 price point (MAYBE lower, but no promises), but whatever the price is, we allow the Rain Check folks to cash those in for a run of their choosing (and if the price point is lower, they'll get the difference as an account credit).

My only concern with any of this is that we don't want the people who went in July to feel like we 'tricked them' into buying a July ticket. They got the bonus rolls and got a special item, but how much will July folks complain if we make the above changes because they didn't get a chance at them? Will they be happy with their haul and with being able to go again if they want even more stuff?

We're already trying to "fix" that with the two Plat runs that happened before the Assassin Loot and weapon drops and I'd rather not have another 310 people from the July runs being vehemently upset, too.
