Answer? No. There are aspects of sales that are problematic, and I know people don't like them, but there is no way to control them short of banning all character transfers, billing updates, and anything else that lets accounts stay active.
That means, for people with more than one account, they wouldn't be able to consolidate your accounts. If you got a friend you just got started by playing a character on your account? That character can't be moved off of it. Your card is about to expire? Your account dies with it. Moving? Your account is dead.
That's obviously not going to work, so the rule on this is, we do not support, endorse or condone the sale of characters, accounts or in game items or monies for out of game funds. If you do it and something goes bad, I still like to hear about it, because all to often, the people who do that sort of thing out of game are also doing things in game for which they should be removed, but it will not be a situation where things get taken or returned or whatever.
Bottom line on sales? Don't do it. If you do it, you're taking all the responsibility on yourself.
Now that I've answered that question and explained the rules on it, the character sales section of this discussion is hereby dead. I'm not even sure it's welcome in the land of the dead horse. I know this is something that people get all up in arms about. The second this topic starts turning into a fight instead of Q&A, those people will find their ability to post gone. This topic is for information, not a debate club.
