Stamina seems to be a lot more important in 3.0, I think it would be cool and functional to get multiple stamina abilities. A meditation that boosts it a little bit, a form that boosts it a bit more, and berserk avalanche.
Only one stamina boost? on 11/26/2012 10:34 PM CST

Wait, the Expertise system will be free. (obviously, how else would you train it). But slot-costing abilities will tie into it and make it behave differently.
With the majority of magic abilities moving to a slot model, and Bard abilities moving to a slot model, it made sense for some of the Barbarian abilities to do so as well.

Hmmm.... I still feel it's a bit lopsided, but I can live with it.

A good discussion here.
>>Wait, the Expertise system will be free. (obviously, how else would you train it). But slot-costing abilities will tie into it and make it behave differently.
What is expertise? What can I do with it that will be free and cost no ability slots? What is the advantage of expertise itself, innately, that requires no further elaboration in the form of slots spent?
As an example I think works well, Moon mages can cast predictions with astrology, an amazingly useful talent that scales well to massive ranks and does not cost slots. You could view the Teleological spells that interact with them as astrology "feats" that have slot costs, so I think this is a good model for new or rewritten guild-based skills.
This is probably a question for post 3.0 release, which is fine. For now, there is some disparity with slot cost, I think that's a necessary reality, stick a pin in it like Thief abilities or Trader magic. These are good questions for whenever expertise is being designed however, I would say expertise should solve this discrepancy.
