I was trying to use AP spells to train utility on my baby necromancer (Circle 18, 60 PM, 44 Utility).
-Dispel fails.
-Seal cambrinth teaches if I prep at like 100, but then I'll be burning through ritual foci pretty fast for training.
-Imbue seems to do nothing and teach nothing regardless of mana. I also tried casting this with my MM to see if it need lunar mana to function but still saw no effect or learning.
I thought AP spells were supposed to allow us to learn all the different magic skills (especially at lower levels) regardless of gaps in our guild spell books. I can train all the other skills fairly easily on this character using just AP spells.

A GM has posted somewhere that imbue will continue to have moon mage applications under their enchanting but won't have an effect for non-mm's until enchanting is opened up as a craft.

>Utility is a bit difficult with AP as it is, but you should be able to learn perfectly fine with QE.
Yea, I can learn utility with QE or EOTB. I'd prefer to just learn it as I actually use CF but I can't even cast that spell anymore in 3.0. I was hoping to use an AP spell for utility training until then since QE causes DO and EOTB requires me to invest 3 spell slots in spells I don't really want just to train.
Regardless, the point was mostly that utility training doesn't seem effective using AP spells. Especially compared to all the other magics skills which train fine with AP.
