I recently tried to shift a moonbeam from Kresh to Riss. I could not do it. I was on Kresh and my moonbeam was in shard. In 2.0, the location of my beam did not matter. What mattered was where I was. I just had to put down a moonbeam on Kresh and then shift it. I just wasnt sure if this was intentional.

I think they actually got rid of that in the last week or so.

This is long gone. But at the same time SM is not acting normal. I couldnt move it one room with the minimum cast. And standing like 6 or so rooms away

Trying to move a moonbeam takes more than min prep. Standing next door to a beam I couldn't move it at one point. Since then though I've just been using it at fairly high cost and can move it about freely.

Honestly if this is the case then the min prep needs to be upped to whatever is the base needed to move the beam. Otherwise whats the point of a min prep that doesnt accomplish any aspect of the spell? I need to double check it again but it also felt like it was pulsing really fast. Walking a beam should not be a hard thing to do. Especially now that all the little shortcuts are gone (which is fine with me). This is one of those spells that Im finding a really tough time understanding for purpose. If it was more akin to say jumping to certain accepting players (In the way beacon works) or even if there were set places it could connect to then Id understand. But it feels (and I could be off center here) that this spell gets difficulty pushed onto it for no real reason. I understand the bypassing certain obstacles thing and yet at the same time I really dont. Is it really that big an issue if I skip a ferry or gondola ride? Or teleport between cities if the moons are up? Or bypass a climb or two? Its not trivializing anyone elses hard work since they still have the benefit of it. And its not like we're gaining that much. If I could bypass the climb into the gorge under the gondola big deal... everything down there can still kill me anyhow... all I did was move down there without climbing. Anyhow... rant over.
