It's currently set up like this:
1st Circle: Choose a Not Aether element.
2nd Circle: Advance in the element, start Aether, or pick another Intro spell.
... Circle: Advance in chosen element(s), or pick another Intro spell.
Elementalism: Every element opens without the Intro spell requirement.
Again, I'm happy to look at changing this around as long as my objective of keeping the number of spells offered to a newbie WM pretty low is maintained.

I actually like how its set up now. Granted my WM is strictly Water/Air/Lightning (go figure Id go with the areas with no forms...) with a heavy emphasis on Water (so glad there is decent water attack though I miss my frost scythe), so I enjoy being tied to the elements. I think that it helps the mage get a better grasp not just on spells but on who they are by having them stuck in an element a little while before getting to move on to the wide range of choices WMs have. To be honest I dont really even like Elementalism... How can you make a fire form or an ice tower without having the basic knowledge of the intro level spells in that element? But I do see the playability side as well, it would be tough to give no option.

>>how do I.. Other elements off just 1
Magic Theory has several explanations available for the elemental planarnaut:
The elemental plane could be a series of layers, one plane that is multifaceted like a prism or a glop like mess of elements.
It could all be aether and we're forming it into elements.
It could be 6+ different planes of existence.
It could be the same mana as holy, lunar, and life- but we can only perceive the edges is the Abiding Plane.
It could be a geometric figure made of math and information.

>2nd Circle: Advance in the element, start Aether, or pick another Intro spell.
Due to slot costs, only Fire (Ignite) and Air (Tailwind) will have a spell available at second circle. So the other three elements will only be able to start Aether or pick another Intro spell, and true noobs may not understand the multiple slot cost of some spells. Do spells show up if you don't have enough spell slots and you ask guildleaders about magic? If not, true noobs may end up taking a lot of the Intro TM spells when they don't need to.
