Could be that because the programmer(s) of Zmud werent allowed access to the GS code but until recently (past yr or so) you couldnt use ZMud to connect. I remember on some of the DR lists I'm on people discussing how to use it & being told they couldnt connect using it, that was until Simu worked something out with ZMud so it could connect to their games.
As far as Genie, Yasse, USGE, anything not coded by Simu can be shut down. My USGE wont work for certain things since its rather old & the coding seems to have changed with something but yet the SGE works for that same thing (I'm thinking they changed a link so USGE doesnt know it) so it can be done.

Worse case scenerio (& Not saying Simu will do it but they have the right too) is that Simu decides to contact these programs owners/writers/coders & tells them to shut it down, they have too. Simu does have the right to control access to their games. You wouldnt tell GW/WOW/The Sims Online/any other online game that you dont like their FE & are going to use your own, most likely they would ban you from their games if they want to control their access.

Me, I'm going to see whats in store for busting AFK scripting as so far the policy does lack in places, & yes, I've been on both sides of the fence, slight mishap few yrs ago falling asleep at my keybrd while teaching got me busted for AFK learning so I learned my lesson & also have helped bust AFK scripters as I find them under many different names. I've also protected AFKers so the GMs could bust them when lynch mobs wanted to kill them & at the old bank I also almost got busted for afk perc learning due to the scroll, caught it when the GM major scrolled my screen with "are you there, wakie wakie or away you go" type comments 8-)

It is a pain to endless type 'forage limb' just to learn a piddling .5 of a rank, same for typing 'prep highpowerspell, targ massivebeast, cast' over & over & over. And please dont suggest macros or scripts, I dont mind atk scrips for foraging & such but in combat I prefer to be in control at all times.

Will be interesting to say the least.
