You'd have to be reading email for a really really long time in order to get nailed with an AFK script warning.

That said, you can always just play it safe and not have all your windows maximized on your screen.

You need to be responsive to the game while gaining experience, coin or otherwise providing a benefit to yourself or others.

Don't full screen your browser and you'll be fine checking your email as long as you notice people interacting with you.

Otherwise either log out or SLEEP yourself to prevent exp gain if you need to be unresponsive for a bit.

It's technically against the rules to be unresponsive for any period of time while gaining experience, money, or other benefits. That being said....

>>DR-ARMIFER: If you go AFK for a few minutes, in the normal sense of the term, you will return long before the script check is complete. If your idea of "a few minutes" is an episode of Mythbusters, you may have a problem. Really, a properly performed script check gives you a lot of time to respond. If we cut the check time in half I'd still say they give you a lot of time to respond.
