Some time ago I asked if it were possible to get kittens as pets. There was some discussion, and then it was stated that it wasn't likely to happen any time soon because of the matter of whether it would grow up. Since then, I have checked around, and I have come up with a few things...
There is a kitten in the Strand communal center and a piglet running around in Tiger Clan, neither of which has grwon up.
Rangers have raccoons and wolves that start out as babies and grow up. The mechanics are probably different with this, though...
The most interesting thing I found, however, was from a trip I made to Biabo's Bug Collection near Shard. Biabo sells a baby wolf spider for 165000.
There IS currently a baby pet for sale. With this being the case, why would there be any problem with other baby animals?
I have looked at the pets at the Sea Caves, the ones in the bug shop, and the ones in Merkresh. I want a cute one. All the cats and dogs are all muscular and hard. I don't want a rock... And I couldn't seem to get a look at the hedgehog. Anyone know what I need to type to actually look at the hedgehog? And whether or not hugging it or petting it will give me some message about getting poked? I've handled hedgehogs. As long as you're careful...
I would like a piglet. That would be fun. I can't catch the one in Tiger Clan to give him a bath, though. So, I decided to try this...
A black and white piglet
The piglet is small and white with a large black spot across it's back resembling a saddle. It has long eyelashes, a curly tail, pointed, floppy ears, and dainty cloven feet. Its snout is short, blunt, and slightly upturned.
Maybe this could be looked into? What I would like is a pretty pig, you know, sort of break the stereotype on them.
Or maybe pet shifting or personalized pets as LTBs...

Check again! There was lots of discussion on this, and I even came up with an entire mythology of the existence of elven-kittens (who, within the time frame that we are in, would pretty much be permanantly young), and somebody even came up with several names. They have all the justification they need now, it's just a matter of doing it. So, I guess the only thing left is to grovel.
{grovels}
BTW, Did I mention that an elven kitten would be the most cute thing in the entire realms? Think about that Mr. or Ms. potential kitty-code-writing person. I know if I had one, in my home in Aesry, people would be getting on the ship just to come over and see it. To see your creation! The glory! The fame! The... well I don't know how you get paid so I guess it ends there. But CMON PLEASE?
Ok, so it doesn't have to be elven, I am of course biased. But just think of the potential adorability. (is that a word?)

How about "dwarf rabbits."
a grey and white dwarf rabbit
The tiny, round rabbit is about the size of a small guinea-pig and will stay this way as long as it lives. Long ears too big for its miniscule body flop down over the sides of its head.
Background: While also named Dwarf Rabbits for the small size they maintain through their lives, there is other reasoning for their moniker. These animals tend to make their burrows extremely deep in the earth. As a result, Dwarves would often come upon them while they were mining. At first the Dwarves would release them into the wilds, but the rabbits always returned home. Not wanting to kill such peaceful and friendly creatures, who had certainly been there first, the Dwarves started adopting the ones they found as pets. Throughout the years, many stories have developed about welkins, the favored creatures of Divyaush, treasuring the rabbits as pets themselves. Because of that legend other stories have developed about Dwarves incurring the ill favor of Zachriedeck for killing the rabbits in order to get rid them from the mines.
The only room messaging I really think HAS to be there for these would be the bunny flop. Anyone who has had a happy rabbit knows what I am talking about. When rabbits get extremely happy they will suddenly flop down on their side, their ears flat against the back of their heads.
