Can a bonded weapon be altered? Does the bond ever run out?

Bonds from estate holder potions do not have charges (last forever unless unbonded). You can alter a bonded weapon via scrolls, face to face alterations, etc.

You've reached the uninformative help match I haven't written yet.

Thank you. Is there a way to tell the difference between an estate holder potion and a quest potion with charges?

i believe the appraisal is different. for the estate bonding when you appraise your <bonded> weapon, you get an appraisal message like this at the end:

<<You sense a deep connection with the Ushnish icon, as if it will be with you always.>>

An arisen dummy zombie bellows, "You will all be ssslaughtered!"
