Not only does it limit how many things you can buy off any particular sales surface

the guy raises the prices for every item sold.

This is intentional. If you SHOP, you will see the base price - the price the first guy paid when he bought one of those things.

When you try to GET or buy the item, you will be told the current price, which has gone up every time anyone bought that thing.

Not a shop for cheap souvenirs, for sure.
