Hi all!

Based upon the success of Payment in Blood and some conversations with players at that event, we've decided to give something new a try. I've found a "ladder" website that I think may be a fun thing to use for PVP tournaments.

The way this site works is, you set up a username (This name MUST be your character's name in game -- no extra letters, no titles.. first name exactly as it is spelled in game only) and we schedule tournaments.

You will have to go to the website to register for the tournament ahead of time. Approximately 30 minutes before the tournament is scheduled to begin, the TD (Tourney Director) will open check-in. You must return to the site and check in to confirm that you are present for the event. Anyone not checked in gets dropped from the tournament.

The brackets are then filled in randomly, and as matches are completed the TD will advance those players along. Its a ladder style ranking system, so the more you win the higher up the ladder you climb. This site keeps track of many different stats, including hot streaks, cold streaks, % wins, % losses, % win over a higher ranked opponent, matches played.. Lots of things.

One neat feature of the site is that if two registered users compete together in a spar, they can report that match and the win (or loss) will reflect in those user's stats. Another neat feature is that we can initiate a Tournament of Champions (TOC) every so often. This is an invite-only tournament, if you've won any tournament during the designated time period you will be invited to compete in this match. I am thinking up some very neat prizes for TOC winners!

I imagine it'll take us all a while to get some of the standings filled in and to figure out the best way to schedule fair matches, but the sooner those of you that are interested in PVP join, the sooner we can see if it'll work out the way I hope.
