Step 1. Realize that whatever you do is going to be loved by some, liked by some, hated by some, and there's gonna be another subset of people who didn't even notice that it happened.
Step 2. Be okay with that.
Step 3. Keep doing things, because the next one is going to get the exact same reaction, but hopefully from alternate subsets.
Nobody is going to love everything that ever happens in Elanthia. This world is a dynamic and changing entity. Change generally evokes responses which can range from love to indifference, with lots of options along the way. If you're finding yourself hating a thing, it may just not be YOUR thing, and the next one might be more to your liking. It is okay to not love everything that ever happens. We hear your responses.
If your response is along the lines of: "Didn't like it. Mighta liked it better if X, Y, Z." this focuses attention on the idea. Ideas can be tweaked and adjusted and taken into consideration for the future!
If your response more resembles: "You stink. You didn't follow my specs for the thing. Your (whatever) is a flop. The fact that you made this thing I don't like is insulting/rude/horrible/torture", by its nature of focusing on a person instead of an idea, leads to fewer positive resolutions in the long run.
Please note that I'm not saying you must respond one way or another, but pointing out that if there are things you're hoping for, focusing on ideas is more productive.
Thank you!
