Can we do something about the kill quests in the corn maze? on 11/14/2017 10:59 AM CST

Either drop the difficulty on the locusts and preferably the crows too, greatly reduce the number you need to kill (3-5), or greatly reduce the timer on declining a task. I literally just had a corn maze run with 0 kernals because of nothing but kill quests. That's not a fun or rewarding time.

Alternatively, just get rid of the timer and cap the number of kernals you can get. Racing against the clock is fine, but not in the case when you have a chance to literally leave the maze with nothing but a bad experience.

I'm not saying this is a fix or will work for everyone, but retreat spam with spells and ranged weapons is pretty effective for the kill tasks. It's at least something to try instead of always turning down the task.

Given the DR3.0 combat paradigm very few guilds have the tools necessary to put out 10 at-level critters worth of damage in 5 minutes. And of course this is going off the faulty assumption that you'll have enough spawn (rarely true even during prime run times when other characters are present). Honestly, can anyone even do this particular quest in sub 5 minutes consistently (>80% of the time the quest is offered)?

Spawn hasn't been a problem, but that's almost a problem in itself. You have 3 very hard hitting, at level creatures that seem resistant to a lot of damage types. I had a cyclic TM going, and i was chaining TM casts to the best of my characters' ability. All of this while surrounded by 3 of these things at any given time. It felt like trying to do the MF quest at the level it was offered. It's doable, but only with a lot of time and decent risk. It's not appropriate for a timed, paid quest.

Failed miserably on my barb at the combat quests (meaning it took forever, 800-900 weapons and 1200 mastery with 100+ agility)... took my Cleric in there and he wiped the floor with them just using FOU (prep fou 100, then tar creature to hit the whole room, 1300+ TM). After seeing how crappy it was with the barb and how easy it was with the cleric I couldn't imagine taking a class in there that didn't have great AoE TM, really not fair for people that don't have alts.

My problem since I'm a late night maze runner is waiting on spawn when no one else is in the maze, twice tonight I waited for over 5 minutes for crows to spawn.

It gets worse. I did with a bard in the upper 200 range, chaining AOE casts and big single target TMs. I would go OOM after the 2nd-3rd kill, and the locusts would wipe the floor with me defensively. I picked up DMRS just for this event.

Solution I found for myself was to use an empath. Even with my level 1 empath, I was able to complete 11-15 tasks per run. If you don't have one, or don't have a slot, I chose to deactivate my normal character and simply play an empath for a few days to burn through my passes.

Then I deactivated it and asked billing to activate my normal one again. Loses a few days of 'prime' productivity, but means I absolutely don't waste a 10$ pass.

Having a TM foci blasts thru the kill quests too.

You slap Voldag hard in the face with your hand, making a nice crisp smack!! That's going to leave a mark!

The fact that this was not only done but is being suggested as the (objectively) correct option shows that this needs to be fixed.

Late to the party but that just sounds incredibly broken.

I saw a few people dying on a fairly regular basis (like every five minutes).

Fair enough if you want to pay buck for rare stuff or the neat auctions/raffles but the last HE Fest put a bad taste in my mouth so other than doing my bit and breaking 1300+ anathema, I didn't participate.

I take it you did the "visit this area and touch the rock" tasks (with the cooldown task gloves?)?

Umm, if you saw their death notices then a lot of them were dying in the snake pit to get stones/crystals/titles/TICKETS whatever.

I choose to not do the corn maze, still have my tickets so if you saw them dying there then I cant comment. I decided upon hearing of some of the issues with flex critters & still not sure of things just coming back after a very long vacation that I'd pass this year, but that was my choice. :)

I do want to thank whoever was running the Weaver when he did the kittens very much for helping me with a very tiny change to my kitten. No evil eyes, no other major changes, just a tiny fur change to make this kitten very much like a RL cat I own. :)

Thank you
