Not sure this would be better served as an automated thing (like the forgebinding at HotRF) or as a GMPC alterer, and I know this idea has been floated in the past so consider this a ::nudge::, but...

With all the neat new gem setting items in the shops, and the gem setting item alterer coming (Talosea on the 28th), could we get a way to "make" gems from items we have? For instance, I have "a wide dragonwood armband interlaced with dragonfire amber". I'd love to be able to give that to someone/something, and get back "a dragonfire amber" gem that can be put into a setting.
