Are these going to make a return?

I'm wondering if HE as a source of rare crafting mats is a thing of the past or not, sans these and spinnerette.

Also, can we get the scroll grab bag merchant?

Thanks!

Not this year. We want to do something different with crafting tasks, but haven't settled on what. The old ones required updates every year, they were abusable by folks having armies of crafters pre-making stuff for them to turn in and other aspects were abused depending on the year. It was an ongoing game of whack-a-mole each year to patch the new angle, and...we just want something different. Having the spider gone, Zasele and the others are taking some time to reassess.

If folks have ideas for what crafting tasks could look like next year, we'd be interested in hearing them!

Maybe the crafting projects could involve getting limited-use instructions to craft a speciality item for them that relates to their need, versus something already in the system by default?

Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.

I like that..

to expand:

Maybe have your rep with the crafting society determine which limited use instructions you can access? More rep gives more options. The instructions don't have to be anything real. so they wouldn't have value after.

Would be nice if rep for the merelew factions could be gained from this too (to provide another way to gain rep instead of dealing with potential dooooom)

Would also be super awesome if a shop that limits access to certain society rep levels (something talked about ages ago) also came out with limited per account instructions. Even more so if it came with the complex stamp instructions.

Or maybe instead of limited use instructions, just release new event-themed instructions for each disciple that are given to any ticket holders on request and are then the accepted crafting task items. That way, it also becomes a neat little mini-gift for event goers too.

As an example, something in the tailoring book like an island tunic, in the remedies book a cooling tonic, etc.

I don't know if it's possible, but having a Hollow Eve crafting book that only has the new Hollow Eve crafted items and gets automatically updated every year would be nice for keeping inventory count down. If it's possible to only add the new patterns to the book if you actually go to HE that would be great, but if its a choice between the two I'd rather take the inventory reduction.

I agree emphatically! Inventory space is a very precious commodity, it isn't as if everyone attending Hollow's Eve magically has access to 200 extra inventory slots to use at their discretion!

Forgive me, I couldn't resist lol.

Mordant comment aside, this would be an excellent way to open an avenue for festival crafting tasks that would afford greater versatility without needing to carry an inordinate number of instructions if you don't want to focus on a single discipline, difficulty, or pattern. One addendum I would make, perhaps updating the book each year at the fest with a new chapter for that years specific items the task givers will accept?
