A white-scaled S'kra Mur wrapped in dark robes sweeps into the Sanctorum of the Crossing Guild of Clerics and strides toward the record keeper's desk. Without pausing, she presses a bundle of letters into his hands. "Listen well. Every Priest who crosses the threshold is to be given one of these. I will do what I can to spread the word myself, but I can only reach so many. The Miracle of Harawep must be acknowledge for what it is, not what they wish it to be." She turns abruptly on her heel and makes her exit. Bemused, the record keeper unfolds one of the letters and begins to read...

My Brothers and Sisters of the Clergy,

I have recently spoken with the High Priestess Tallis regarding the events surrounding the newly reborn spider. I wish to share the knowledge I have gleaned with you here, for the people look to us for spiritual guidance and thus it is we who must lead them through the Dark and banish theological ignorance to extinction.

Firstly, those of us who were in attendance when the spider made its metamorphosis may have noticed what appeared to be a Dark Holy aura surrounding the mechanism. This glow appeared to flicker before disappearing altogether. While that may seem to be cause for concern, it is more than likely an illusion of sorts woven by the Widowmaker, Harawep. The High Priestess clarified that at this time, the 'disappearance' of the Dark Holy glow is felt to have been the absorption of prayers given to Harawep, even unknowingly, by those who raised their pieces of stura atulave as Kurmin prayed to Her. That would mean that the spider, in its current state of living machine, is indeed a Miracle of Harawep. While it is natural for us to strive to understand the wishes of our Lords that we may please Them, we must all come to realize that we simply cannot hope to ever understand the full scope of Harawep's plans. Captain Kurmin appears to be a genuine Divine Vessel of Harawep, granted considerable esteem and knowledge from his Benefactress. However, the intricacies of Her web are far beyond our mortal ken. Keep that in mind when speaking to him and treat him not with unkindness.

Amidst the chaos, it is becoming increasingly apparent that Lord Huldah is making His presence felt within the smaller mechanical spider as well. According to the High Priestess, there have been confirmed sightings of a lightning-shrouded shrine to the Lord of Discord coinciding with the appearance of weasels, ferrets, stoats, minks, polecats, ermine, and grison. Visions relating to Huldah and a gleaming maze were reported to her as well, perhaps representing the metallic corridors of the smaller arachnid.

Investigations of both spiders are still ongoing. The High Priestess urges vigilance amongst all; though we cannot see what lies ahead, we may yet attempt to prepare for whatever the Gods of Deception have in store for us.

The sudden change of the spider was startling - the people at large are put ill at ease by this spectacular union of steel and flesh. A good deal of the adventuring class would not willingly aid the Dark Gods in Their endeavors. Further, many of them outwardly mistrust Kurmin and flinch from his devotion to Harawep. But is this wonder not of the Divine? Are not the miracles of all the Gods worthy of awe? While fear of the Dark Ones is wise, we must not forget the lesson taught to us by the Lord of Storms; the Light and the Dark must both be honored and respected. Thus, we must not shy away from the calling of Harawep, nor close our mind to Huldah's enlightenment. We must reach out to the people who lash out with animal fear born of ignorance. If we all reach toward the heavens with piety instead of judgment, we may be granted some measure of divine insight.

I will be available in the spider, should anyone wish to speak to me on such matters. May Drogor grant us the tenacity and temerity to weather the storm.
